Japanese Soldier

An old Airfix 1:32 Japanese soldier I painted and based. It was part of a diorama vignette set in Manila during World War 2 and this picture was scanned from a print. The photo was taken before the avaibility of digital cameras. Sadly, I've since lost this piece when we moved.

  1. I used to have a set of 1:32 Japanese soldiers about 22 years ago. They were actually ORANGE and some had bayonets protruding from the rifles. Tough usage as a kid left me without any left.

    1. Also this is a great site! Plastic soldiering is great and not many people have good information on them.

Airfix 1:32 Afrika Korps

The Airfix range of military figures is one of the iconic brands of plastic toy soldiers I grew up with. Airfix is a UK manufacturer of plastic scale model kits founded in 1939 by Humbrol and currently owned by Hornby, a famous UK model railway brand. This is the latest reissue of their classic Deutsche Afrika Korps, the German expeditionary force in Libya and Tunisia during the North African Campaign of World War II. The box contains 14 figures. Click the picture above to go to the Airfix webpage for these figures.
